4th day...Facing Creative Commons & Porter Novelli

It was a colder day (for sure not like sub-zero Iowa) relative to the other days. We visited Porter Novelli and Creative Commons. Karen Hartline, who is heavily involved in public relations, was the one who discussed with us regarding Porter Novelli and her personal life. She extensively focused on the social web media as a way to develop businesses, develop connections and most of all manage our own users. The web is now the voice of the users and in order to control that voice, we need to be part of the users and their conversation. It was very interesting to hear all her stories and how she was able to create connections and networks. Her advice were the same us many of the entrepreneurs we mate over the last four days. She seems to be so willing to help us and talk to us in the future as well so that was a plus.

Our second place for today was Creative Commons, a non-profit organisations that 'provides free, legal-to-use tools that give everyone from individual creators to major companies
and institutions a simple, standardized way to pre-clear copyrights to the creative work.' It was interesting to discuss with the young workers who are an integral part of Creative Commons. I guess i'm going to create a licence for all my properties that i've uploaded online so that next time people want to use my online property, they have to recognize my work- that way we will avoid plagiarism. Do you know that you can create a license for your facebook account using creative commons? All free stuff..

I also went to a huge Nike Store and saw this huge lovely poster of Wayne Rooney. May Manchester United shine in San Francisco!!
