The weekend...

It seems like there are numerous people in San Francisco who try to keep themselves healthy by doing lots of running, biking, playing games etc...
I was able to visit two famous places in one day that are based in San Francisco. Biking on the Golden Gate Bridge and spending a night in the famous Alcatraz Island...perfect day for me. Although the bike ride made me so tired due to the sloppy hills, there was no room for me to complain as i was able to bike on the Golden Gate bridge. Watching the beautiful scenes surrounding the Pacific Ocean (now i'm only left with seeing the Arctic ocean and I hope that will come soon enough) from the Golden Gate bridge and the hills nearby was very great. In addition, i was also able to see dolphins swimming under the bridge! From far, the bridge does not look that big, but as i came closer and stood on it, it was unbelievably giant. The design of it is just so spectacular. I have so much respect for the people who built this outstanding structure.

After taking a short break and having lunch, we went for a night tour in Alcatraz Island, a very historical place that was once a home for famous prisoners like George Kelly "Machine Gun", Al Capon "Scarface", Robert Stroud "Birdman of Alcatraz" and Alvin Karpowicz "Creepy Karpis."
I was amazed with the preparation and arrangement of the place and the workers to make it a perfect learning place for visitors. I wish Robben Island implements this system for the millions of visitors who cross countries to visit it. It was interesting to hear the tour guides tell us the stories of some of the famous prisoners in Alcatraz, especially the infamous "Scarface."

It was a good day!!
