Rainy Monday...Redwood & Aquarium

Despite the rain, it was a good start of the week as we were able to visit the Redwood Grove Trail and then the amazing Monterey Bay Aquarium. We stayed at the Redwood Grove for about an our and it was thrilling to walk around and see these really old tall tress that have various shapes at their bottom part of their stems. I looked at a map in the reception room that showed the spread of the red tree in the past and at present time. It's really sad to see how we've destroyed and massively reduced the number of these huge trees.

In the afternoon, we went to Monterey Bay Aquarium, a beautiful place with lots of sea creatures including penguins, sharks, jellyfish and dolphins. It's amazing how the place is well designed for people to see and the care that is given to both the place and the creatures. In almost every room, there is a low slow background music playing and it creates a very soothing atmosphere in the aquarium. This place also has different species of rescued birds being given the perfect care in a closed environment. All these creatures are fed at specific times mostly through divers, which makes it even a greater place for people to see and get excited about. there are well trained staff members who seem to know a lot about the creatures. A very good place to relax, enjoy and at the same time learn so much!
